Everything here was made by a young person in our training programme. 100% of these sales contribute to future trainings.
Most charity shops ask you to donate and then separately ask you to buy. Ours is simpler and, we think, stronger: our trainees learn a craft, make real products, and those products are sold. The trainee earns from their own work — and the proceeds are turned straight back into training the next group.
That means a purchase from this page does two things at once. It pays for something handmade, and it funds the next six-week cohort.
Children and young adults join a six-week skill empowerment cohort in their own community.
Crochet sling bags, scrunchies, adire fabric and handmade ankara books — produced by hand.
Items are listed in our online store. The trainee earns from the work of their own hands.
100% of these sales contribute to future trainings — the next cohort is funded by the last one.
Availability changes with each cohort — the store is the live list. Below is what our trainees have produced so far.
Hand-crocheted, one at a time, in the colours each trainee chooses. No two are identical.
A first project that teaches tension and finishing — and sells. Small, useful, handmade.
Traditional Yoruba resist-dyed cloth, made by our trainees using adire techniques.
Notebooks bound in ankara fabric — where the skill programme and school materials meet.
Stock, prices and delivery are managed on our Selar store, which is updated after every cohort. If something you saw here is not listed, it has sold out — email us and we will tell you when the next batch is ready.
Note for the site owner. The four tiles above are placeholders using
branded images. Replace each one with a real photograph of the product, and add the
individual Selar product link to each tile once the store has per-item pages. See
README.md.
If you are buying for a team, an event, a school or a church group, we can take a bulk order. It is a genuinely useful form of support: it gives our trainees a real production deadline and a real customer.
Photo placeholder. Replace with a photograph of a completed batch or a delivery to a partner organisation.
The shop is one way to help. A direct donation funds the training, the materials and the outreach — and every naira of it stays inside a programme.
